Festival della Valle d’Itria: the online sale of the operatic titles of the 2020 edition is open

Great advance and spread in foreign tourist markets for the next summer program

New discounts for residents in Martina Franca and for the under-30s

An unprecedented novelty: in coincidence with the San Martino festivity, the online sale of the tickets for the next edition of the Festival della Valle d’Itria is open. A result strongly desired by the Paolo Grassi Foundation, in line with the choices made by the major international festivals and useful for a longer and more widespread promotion of the Apulian event on the tourist markets. The 46th edition of the Festival will take place in Martina Franca in the usual period between mid-July and the beginning of August, according to the program approved by the Board of Directors of the Paolo Grassi Foundation, led by President Franco Punzi, and presented by the artistic director Alberto Triola with the musical director Fabio Luisi.

The inauguration is carried out by a rarity of the bel canto repertoire such as La Rappresaglia by Saverio Mercadante, (the 14th, 26th, and 29th of July 2020): therefore a frequent appointment in Martina Franca programs with the early Italian 20th century, Gli amanti sposi by Ermanno Wolf-Ferrari (the 19th and 24th of July and the 1st of August) title never resumed in contemporary age, therefore Leonora by Ferdinando Paër (25th, 28th and 31st of July).

These titles will also be accompanied by the now awaited interludes of the Neapolitan School, destined for the successful “Opera in masseria” initiative, the Junior Festival, a bel canto concert on the 18th of July and a symphonic concert directed by Fabio Luisi on the 2nd of August.

«This festival – president Franco Punzi says – has among its characteristics the ability to renew itself year by year both in content and in the ways of fruition and also for the 2020 edition, always along the path traced by the teachings of Paolo Grassi , we aim to consolidate the international prestige enjoyed by the event and, at the same time, to a greater presence of young audiences, to whom we offer particularly favourable purchasing conditions and also to that resident in Martina which has supported us for 46 editions».

The sale of tickets is open on this website, on Vivaticket and in over than 700 stores throughout Italy. In the provinces of Taranto and Bari only, tickets are available from 83 authorized dealers, including the Box Office at the Feltrinelli store in Bari (via Melo, 119) and the Box Office in Taranto (via Nitti, 106/a). It is possible to identify the location of the sales points on the specific page of the Vivaticket website at this link.

The ticket price table has been updated which, given a slight increase to position itself in line with other prestigious international events and for a more correct perception of the quality offered, includes special reductions for the residents in Martina Franca (absolute novelty) and for the under-30s who enjoy a 50% discount on the tickets for all the performances (except the inaugural evening of the 14th of July); the 20% discount for the over-65s is confirmed. Groups have a 20% discount.

The cost of the entire ticket for the Operas on stage at Palazzo Ducale is 60€ (stall) and 30€ (gallery); for the opening night of the 14th of July the price is instead of 70€ (stall) and 40€ (gallery).

Six different carnets are available, especially dedicated to the international public, which allow a 20% saving. At the moment they are only bookable on the website and they will be on sale from 2020.
