With Luca Della Libera
Always attentive to the Baroque repertoire, the Festival della Valle d’Itria dedicates one of the “Trame in musica” events to the sacred music of Alessandro Scarlatti (1660-1725), focusing in particular on the works he composed in Rome, where he lived and worked for many years.
Musicologist and journalist Luca Della Libera, author of the first major publication on Scarlatti’s sacred music in English and of the forthcoming book on the letters of the Scarlatti family, will narrate this journey. His storytelling will alternate with performances of Scarlatti’s music and works by his contemporaries, interpreted by the young voices of the Accademia di Belcanto “Rodolfo Celletti.”
