Guerre e paci
with Paolo Nori
As part of the “In-chiostro: tra note e parole” series, four cultural figures engage in dialogues paired with rare musical programs, exploring the theme of war and peace amidst the baroque cloisters of Martina Franca and the region’s historic farmsteads. Through the music of Schnittke, Šostakóvič, and Silvestrov, writer and translator Paolo Nori explores how great Russian authors such as Tolstoy and Dostoevsky have reflected on war and peace.
The performance features the young and talented pianist Viviana Lasaracina alongside the Quartetto Adorno, named in homage to philosopher Theodor Wiesengrund Adorno. In a time of musical and social decline, Adorno saw chamber music as a key to preserving true human connection, built on values of respect and the pursuit of perfection.
