2026 Program
52nd Festival della Valle d’Itria
Program 2026
The Festival della Valle d’Itria in Martina Franca, one of the oldest summer events dedicated to opera and vocal music in Southern Italy, continues to be a point of reference for enthusiasts. Always attentive to the bel canto repertoire and rarely performed works, the Festival enriches its offerings through a dialogue between past and present, also giving space to 20th- and 21st-century music.
The 52nd edition, taking place from 14 July to 2 August in Martina Franca, is guided by the theme “The Mediterranean: Cradle of Myth, Crossroads of Cultures, Welcoming Sea”, chosen by the Artistic Director and composer Silvia Colasanti. She continues the path established in previous editions with an open and sensitive approach, intertwining repertoires that span from the 18th century to contemporary music.
The Mediterranean thus becomes both a symbolic and real horizon: a sea where civilizations and legends were born, a theater of encounters and migrations, a place where stories, languages, and traditions brush against one another and transform. In this vibrant and complex space, music becomes both storytelling and listening—a voice capable of conveying the depth of human experiences, between hopes, fears, and desires for the future.
The 2026 edition of the Festival della Valle d’Itria offers a moment of reflection—a lens through which to observe the present and rediscover the value of dialogue between cultures. It is not just a series of performances, but an opportunity for shared growth for the territory and the audience, faithful to the tradition of unconventional programming and attentive to social challenges and the engagement of new spectators.
Martina Franca invites you to be immersed in a cultural experience that unites beauty, thought, and openness, in the spirit of a sea that has always welcomed encounters.
