The New Year’s Concert 2026 in Martina Franca welcomes the arrival of the new year with an evening of great music
On Thursday, January 1st 2026, at 6.00 pm, the Fondazione Paolo Grassi, in collaboration with the Municipality of Martina Franca and with the support of BCC di Locorotondo, presents its traditional New Year’s appointment in Piazza XX Settembre, with free admission.
Taking the stage is the ICO Magna Grecia Orchestra, conducted by Piero Romano, joined by soprano Gesua Gallifoco and baritone Guido Dazzini, both of whom refined their training at the “Rodolfo Celletti” Belcanto Academy, a cornerstone of the Festival della Valle d’Itria.
The New Year’s Concert programme features some of the most beloved pages of the European musical tradition, ranging from the celebrated waltzes and polkas by the Strauss family to famous opera arias by Rossini, Donizetti, Bizet and Gounod. The evening also includes the Festive Overture by Dmitri Shostakovich, sparkling orchestral pieces by Emile Waldteufel and Hans Christian Lumbye, and concludes with the iconic Mattinata by Ruggero Leoncavallo.
A festive and elegant event that brings together celebration, tradition and artistic excellence, reaffirming the central role of live music in Martina Franca’s cultural life and in the activities of the Fondazione Paolo Grassi.
